The DAYS is a unique battery of three norm-referenced scales useful in identifying major depressive disorder and overanxious disorders in children and adolescents. The primary theoretical frame of reference for the scales is the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-Third Edition, Revised (American Psychiatric Association, 1987), which presents a system for classifying a variety of anxiety and mood disorders in young people. The DAYS comprises three scales: Student Rating Scale (Scale S), the Teacher or Teacher Alternate Rating Scale (Scale T), and the Parent or Parent Alternate Rating Scale (Scale P). Each scale of the DAYS has been standardized and may be used independently or in conjunction with the other scales. The norming sample includes 5,000 typical learners ranging in age from 6-0 to 19-0 who live in 25 different states. Norms also have been developed for special education students classified as emotionally disturbed and learning disabled, as well as children and adolescents diagnosed as clinically depressed.

Complete DAYS Kit includes: Examiner’s Manual, 50 Student Rating Scales, 50 Teacher Rating Scales, 50 Parent Rating Scales, 50 Profile/Record Forms, and scoring keys, all in a sturdy storage box. (1994)
