Interaction Checklist for Augmentative (INCH)
INCH: INteraction CHecklist for Augmentative Communication
This measure evaluates communicative effectiveness. INCH helps you plan remediation strategies for nonspeaking clients who use either electronic or manual augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) systems. INCH is the premiere instrument for this purpose. The simple protocol uses a checklist format to evaluate skill areas, including:
• responding to greetings from others
• introducing self when appropriate
• using AAC system without prompting
• seeking help
• using pauses for greater clarity
This criterion-referenced measure yields a score or detailed comments to guide intervention. The manual includes goals, objectives, and many intervention ideas for clients at all severity levels.
COMPLETE INCH KIT INCLUDES: Manual, 25 checklists (©1991)
