Phonological Awareness Bingo provides a fun and engaging way for your students to practice phonological awareness skills. These games were developed to be as flexible as you are-they can be easily incorporated into your daily lessons, used in group work or centers, or given as independent practice activities. As a general rule, the skills addressed in Phonological Awareness Bingo should be introduced, practiced, and mastered by your students in the order in which they normally develop: sound awareness first; then rhyming; then segmentation; and finally blending.
Feel free to adapt these games to meet your students’ specific needs. Before beginning play, ensure your students can say the names of each picture on the game boards by reviewing them together. Students play exciting variations like Five in a Row, Blackout, and Four Corners while honing skills in:
