Recipe for Writing and Spelling — Third Edition
An Integrated Program
Recipe for Writing and Spelling, Third Edition is a multi-sensory program that uses phonics, language patterns, and language experience for developing skills in spelling, writing, and reasoning in grades Kindergarten through six. This sequential and structured program offers a logical approach for teaching through word study, word analysis, and word use.
Recipe for Writing and Spelling now provides many new writing activities while retaining most of the spelling lessons found in Recipe for Spelling, Second Edition. The writing activities incorporate the target spelling skills from each lesson. Students will strengthen both their writing and spelling skills while they complete enjoyable assignments that hone their creative, informative, and personal narrative writing styles.
This third edition also now includes a CD-ROM. It contains the Write and Spell and On Your Own activities and the Graded Word Lists from Appendix A. Teachers will find it convenient to print these reproducible pages for their students for work in the classroom and at home.
Recipe for Writing and Spelling comprises thirty teaching units. Each unit contains the following elements: Objectives, Word Lists, Pretest, Posttest, Spell Together, and Spell On Your Own. This thorough program can enhance any contemporary language arts class, or it can stand alone as a basic program of instruction. It can also be used for remedial instruction in junior and senior high school.
