Test for (and measure the severity of) aphasia syndromes in adolescents and adults using the WAB-R. You can administer the WAB in an hour and evaluate a client’s responses for information content, fluency, auditory comprehension, repetition, and naming. The WAB-R yields an Aphasia Quotient that helps you categorize clients according to various aphasia taxonomic classifications and determine the degree of severity. You can then base treatment goals and activities on known characteristics of behavior and recovery associated with each classification.
