Words Around Me is an engaging, interactive software program that helps students with unique learning needs successfully learn 275 common words, as well as 186 plurals. Students learn to associate spoken words with photographs and drawn images grouped in seven categories: Personal; Kitchen; Home; Outdoors; School; Community; and Colors, Shapes and Verbs. Students progress through five activities in each category: Word Identification, Plurals, Categorization, Sameness, and Difference. Four Review Games provide opportunities for reinforcement. A flexible management system allows teachers to customize the program and track student progress.
